I think what has kept Terminator from feeling like another 80s sci-fi action movie (Krull, Last Starfighter, etc) are the excellent acting and the strongly written characters: Paul Winfield, Henriksen, Earl Boen, Bill Paxon -- even Dick Miller! There's not many movies from this genre that can boast that many great side characters in the midst of so much mayhem and special effects. Great choice, Joe.
