I'm guessing she means she was a little detached from the real world, or that she had poorly developed critical skills, and from a present day vantage point is looking down on herself at that point in her life, but it's not clear quite why she should imply that reading poetry in itself is a bad thing. The film was no where even close to a 10 million dollar budget. The final budget was under $5 million. There are a few other little errors in here, however the budget error is really way way off.
