This movie SOOO roxors. I love that it is so clearly funny that I can tell people who don’t understand humor right off, by how they review this movie.

Line, after line, after line… Look for Kelly’s “introduction” in the script. Just a fantastic scene.

Jorge: I don't really have any guilty pleasures. Either I love a movie, or I don't. Starship Troopers to me is not a guilty pleasure, but a great movie. Thanks for contributing a consenting opinion though! Heidi: The ending in the remake is exactly the same; Buttermaker puts the benchwarmers into the game in the final inning to give everyone a chance to play and the Bears lose. In test screenings, Linklater found that parents wanted the Bears to win. Pathetic. Linklater mentions that the kids they showed the movie to liked that the Bears lost. They could identify with that. Jeremy: Walter Matthau was grumpy before he was even an old man and there is no substitute actor for him. Check out Charley Varrick and The Taking of the Pelham One, Two, Three if you ever get the chance.

I never bothered seeing this as the original is such a favorite of mine…no one can replace Walter and Tatum in the original and your posting makes me want to see the remake even less now…Always glad to see some love thrown the original’s way…and great review of what sounds like a bad remake…
