Carradine doesn't look like Woody Guthrie, but he really has his cadence and voice mannerisms down. Like all biopics, the story line is rapidly condensed in places--but that's ok. It is slow, too much like Grapes of Wrath, and not enough music. I understand the point of the long beginning, but I want to watch this movie to hear Guthrie sing and so far (about 90 minutes into the movie) he sung a note. The beginning also makes Woody appear to be a cad - chating on his wife and then walking out on his family. Was that the way it was? I am watching the movie now.
